I treat each student as an individual and aim to get them playing as best they can within their limitiations.

All students come with some expectations and so I try to find out what these are and try to meet them whenever I can, whilst also trying to infect them with my passion and enthusiasm for music and playing the guitar.

I am often surprised at what students want to learn, so I try not to have any preconceived ideas, however most boys seem fired-up by classic rock at first, often inspired by tunes they hear on their ‘Guitar Hero’ game or listening to their dad’s CD collection. I teach at a girl school and find that most of them are interesed in acoustic styles, as are a lot of my adoult studients.

RGT exams offer an excellent structured approach and give students the tools they need to play in a band or career in music.

Our Venues

RUA RED

is a dynamic home for the creation and enjoyment of the arts. Creative spaces around the centre are available to hire by groups and individuals for creative use.

Along with partner organisations and tenants, the centre hosts a programme

of events aimed at all members of the community, locally, nationally and internationally.
